iPod / iPhone

I have an issue with my iPod touch (2G 32GB). This problem also would apply to any iPhone and iPod touch regardless of generation. I can't see the artist when I have the music player in the holder I have by my car stereo. Is it too far away? No. Too dim? Not the issue here. I can't read the artist because the artist looks like it's font size 6.5 and it's dark gray on a light gray background.

Seriously?!?

The usability has been a problem for a while and I was hoping one of these iOS updates would help. I prefer the original style click wheel for playing in the car.

iPhone not on Verizon (Thank God for the iPod touch)

So once about a time, I was a Cingular user. I got spotty reception, frequent dropped calls, and overall a bad experience. So I switch to Verizon "the nation's most reliable network" and have gotten great reception, good customer service, and not 1 dropped call - one problem...
I switched about 6 months before the iPhone came out!

Picasa for Mac

It has happened.
Google has released a Mac version of their popular, easy to use image manager.

http://picasa.google.com/mac/
I've been hoping for this for a long time.
Major reasons I look forward to using Picasa on the Mac:
1. It references your folders instead of creating it's own folder structure!
2. It's fast - very fast! Also, it doesn't seem to bloat with tens of thousands of pictures (man I need to learn to delete!)
3. It's from Google. That means it will continue to grow, look good from a user interface standpoint, and integrate with a bundle of other great technologies!
4. It's FREE

Is it a PC?

Something funny I've noticed.................The many different things people call a PC. I've heard it called a hard drive, tower, compute or da "puter"(rhymes w/pooter). I've even heard it called a mainframe.

If there are any others you've heard, I'd love to know.

USB Plasma Ball

Looking back at all the technology purchases I've made over the years. There is one that stands out as giving the most bang for the buck...
My USB Plasma Ball!

This item resembles one of the millions of things I'd look at thinking that's cool, get turned off by the price, and move on.
But at $12.99 - it's not to expensive at all. It can be powered off USB or wall (significantly better light show with USB for some reason), it looks really cool in the dark, and can help relieve stress in an instant.
If you don't have one yet - maybe you need to take a look in the mirror and ask yourself if you're being all the geek you can be.

Dogs can be jealous?

I just read an article from a science web site that said they've discovered dogs can exhibit jealousy.

Is it just me or does this one get a big "Wow Dr. Labratory - I think we all kinda knew that!" or what?

For my experiment all I do is look at my 2 dogs that keep a frighteningly accurate score of who gets more attention or treats. And if I let that score too out of balance, there will be puppy pouting.

Wii, Xbox 360, or Playstation 3?

I don't know, I've never played them.
I don't have the free time to justify buying a new gaming console plus $50 or more for every "gotta have" title that comes out.
I do still play my original Xbox for spurts here and there. Usually when I buy a 2 year old game for less than $10. My biggest problem with the Xbox is that it freezes. For example I'm playing Madden 2008 in Franchise mode with the Buffalo Bills, 3rd quarter - Bills just played the first half of their virtual life - and the game freezes with:
"There is a problem with the disk you are using. It may be dirty or damaged."
How stupid is that? I don't think PlayStation does that. So my game is lost, my time that I chose to waste is even more wasted because it can't be saved and will need to be played again.
So - inform me. Let me know what the best new console is so I can get the right one if the day ever comes.
